The name Meprofa is new, but its origins date back to 1995. That year SEW was founded. At the time, SEW was a small equipment manufacturing company. Products were developed that found their application in the petrochemical and food industry.
The company grew and therefore experienced many changes and adjustments in the composition of the products. Turnover also started to increase. This growth required the necessary certifications and specializations as well as the right personnel.
Split into two specialized companies
The types of activities varied to such an extent that in 2006 the company was split into several independent companies under the same holding company. SEW Food & Process BV, now Meprofa, became one of these companies.
SEW Food & Process developed itself further in various products and the associated customers. SEW Food & Process entered various markets, which resulted in a diverse customer base. Due to the developments of SEW, several operating companies were added to the holding company. These included SEW Offshore Containers BV, SEW Projects BV and Suretank Netherlands.
In the 2018, the operating companies were sold by the holding company, which were mainly engaged in offshore oil and gas production. The name SEW was also linked to this.
SEW Food & Process B.V. becomes Meprofa BV
New times bring new developments, so SEW Food & Process BV transformed into Meprofa BV in 2020. This change was also the impetus for a new policy approach, which is reflected in our mission & vision.
We are proud to bear the name of Meprofa. The name that stands for Mechanical Process Fabricators. A name that is new, but stands for experience and development since 1995.
We supply sheet metal work, semi-finished products, prototypes, small series and large constructions to the ground, road and hydraulic engineering, on- & offshore, agricultural industry, machine building, shipbuilding, trailer and chassis construction, installation and construction companies and the nuclear industry.
